Here is my Christmas picture. I didn't want to write Merry Christmas on it, though, considering there are so many winter holidays out there... Merry Christmas / Happy Hanukkah everyone!
I'm back to complete the description. I sketched this up at school at the same time as I sketched up my Thanksgiving picture, but for some reason I wanted to CG the Christmas picture instead of traditionally painting it. I also wanted to attempt to make it large enough to make almost poster-sized prints of it. The largest size I could work at, however, was 5000x5000px. Anything larger would lag too much for me to stand.
One thing that was really fun about this piece was that it's completely made out of paths (pen tool) and selections. The only part of this that I manually shaded using the brush tool was some of the hat puff areas and the bell. Using only selections and paths was REALLY useful for such a large image. @,@
So this piece is a little under 5000x5000px and at the end, the psd file was over 200mb. It takes about one minute to save it now. Dx And I can't even use the Save to Web function anymore, when I try it just says "not enough memory"; lmao! So this is more evidence that I need a new computer -- for both gaming and art. (And don't anyone dare start telling me, "get a Mac", because I will never succumb to such evils. [Just Kiddin] )
PS: If anyone is interested in a 12x12" print of this, let me know! It'd cost $10. ^^ (Covers print price, envelope, and shipping)
Adorable and so brilliantly colored, as always! You even paid attention to the various textures - Vensy looks soft, the hat looks woolly, the collar looks leathery...and the bell looks real! Man, you ought to design Christmas cards. I had such a hard time picking some out this year because 99% of them had cheap, ugly artwork. XD
